Rooted on paying gratitude and commemorating the sole that makes Bolinao a municipality of resiliency and solidity, the joint efforts of LGU Bolinao, National Agencies, Barangay Councils, DepEd Bolinao (academe), Religious Group, NGOs that includes Rotary Club and Bolinao Business Tourism Association and LGBTQIA+ community, paved way to the genuine triumph of the celebration of the 447th Founding Anniversary dubbed as Pagsen Nan Bolinao (Pillar of Bolinao) cum Feast of Patron Saint, St. James the Great on July 25, 2022.
With the theme: “Harness the Wisdom of the Bygone and Wield the Glory of Tomorrow, this event is centered on collaborative activities such as Civic Parade, Laro ng Lahi and Fellowship Night which opened creative ways for developing enthusiasm, promoting camaraderie and strengthening community involvement while celebrating the proud and rich history of Bolinao. As the contingents amalgamated and became force multipliers to successfully create a socially inclusive celebration, this goes to show the essence of this moment of remembrance- to remind locals the humble beginnings of the town, to acknowledge the tough times we have faced and the remarkable ways we have bonded together to foster unity in spite individual differences and to strengthen commitment and action in participatory development for community well-being, honing them to be thoughtful and committed, citizens that can change the world and of prime importance to build an ever more connected municipality; where hope, stability and peace reign.
For just like a famous quote from Coretta Scott King, “The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members.”
